Jackson makes her New York City solo recital debut in the Great Music at St. Bart’s series. Taking inspiration from the concept of theophany— or, “the appearance of a deity”— Incantation explores musical portraits of mythical and divine beings as they appear in the mortal world, and the human impulse to connect to the spiritual realm. In a blend of mystical ancient music and a world-premiere song cycle, this program examines the boundary between the earthly and the miraculous.
