Tania León is a lauded composer, conductor, educator, arts advocate, and the newest recipient of the William Schuman Award of Columbia University School of the Arts. Jackson joins the event at the composers request to perform her work “In the Field”.
In this candlelit, immersive performance led by Music Director Kent Tritle, singers move in, among, and around the audience, creating a breathtaking wall of sound that envelops you from every direction at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
We begin the season celebrating the momentous birthdays of two choral giants: Alice Parker (1925-2023) and G. P. da Palestrina (1525-1594). In addition to works by these luminaries, we offer two sublime motets by J. S. Bach, "Jesu, meine Freude" and "Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf."
The storied Orchestra of St. Luke’s performs the masterwork with the Clarion choir and soloists under conductor Raphaël Pichon at Carnegie Hall.
Outside of the choir stalls, members of the St. Bartholomew’s Choir are often heard at many of the city’s most prestigious venues ranging from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to Broadway stages and New York’s finest jazz clubs. Hear them celebrate the holiday season in our beautiful sanctuary with beloved traditional carols as well as festive new arrangements of sacred and secular Christmas favorites, all accompanied on our famed pipe organ.
Experience the magic of the season with Musica Sacra at Carnegie Hall. This festive evening includes glorious choral selections from Bach’s Mass in B Minor and Rachmaninoff’s Vespers, plus beautiful choral and orchestral works by Corelli, Poulenc, Helena Paish, and Randall Thompson.
Musica Sacra concludes the 2025-2026 season with the world premiere of Wayne Oquin’s On the Words of Walt Whitman for soloists, chorus and chamber orchestra.

Franz Schubert's sacred music for choir and orchestra carries the torch of Viennese Classicism passed to him by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. Jackson performs as the soprano soloist.
